Shan Qin, MD, PhD
Nephrology
After finishing his medical school in 1992, Dr. Qin worked as a scientist physician, specializing in internal medicine. He completed his residency of internal medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson / Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, followed by a specialty fellowship training in Nephrology at Boston University Medical School. Besides his clinical work, Dr. Qin also conducted his research at Harvard Medical School, focusing on kidney disease treatment (reference below). He was awarded The Eleanor and Miles Shore 50th Anniversary Research Excellence Award in Harvard Medical School in 2010.
Dr. Qin is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. Qin is an expert in treatment of:
• Kidney disease: including acute and chronic kidney disease; End Stage Kidney Disease, hereditary kidney disease; Kidney stones; etc.
• Electrolytes abnormalities: such as high potassium, low sodium, low magnesium level etc.
• Hypertension: especially the resistant high blood pressure treatment
• General internal medicine: Dr. Qin also work as primary care physician, treating the general medical problems in internal medicine.
